AI Sages, Super Wallets & Blockchain Networks

Weekly #54

Salutations fellow wayfinder!

Last week, we discussed AI productivity, blockchain, and generational issues. This week, we look at blockchain and Mandala Networks, AI as our modern sage, and Notion as a potential future “super wallet”.

Let's dive in.

The Convergence of Blockchain, AI & “Super Wallets”

In the grand tapestry of existence, the threads of the past intertwine with those of the present, and together, they weave the fabric of the future. The realm of technology, though seemingly modern, is no exception. From the ancient wisdom of the East to the innovative strides of today, there is a harmony that bridges eras and cultures.

Take blockchain, for example. At its core, it's a manifestation of a timeless principle: the value of trust. In the ancient markets of Silk Road, word was bond. It was a promise and trust — an invisible currency that powered commerce across continents. Today, blockchain (and subsequently, “crypto”) echoes this ethos, offering a web of cryptographic guarantees, reminiscent of the old bonds of trust, yet adapted for the digital age.

Despite its seemingly “newness,” AI mirrors an ancient aspiration: the quest for wisdom and knowledge. In the tales of old, the sage was revered for his deep understanding of the cosmos. Today, AI emerges as our digital sage, offering insights beyond the reach of human cognition. As OpenAI develops its own Large Language Models (LLMs), it's akin to the crafting of an oracle, one that might guide us through the labyrinth of data that defines our era. Apps like Notion have already begun applying AI into their product (e.g. Notion AI), so all they need is the blockchain infrastructure to become a truly “Web3” company of the future — without even changing too much!

Notion & The Super Wallet Era

How Notion could become a new way to host and share data

Notion — one of my favorite all-in-one productivity tools — has the potential to evolve into what I call a "super wallet," which I spoke about in Daily #091. This is why I decided to use Notion to house all content for my newly revamped website:

Having worked with tools like Notion, Obsidian, and even Evernote (who sadly failed to innovate fast enough), I can safely say that the future is about centralizing and decentralizing simultaneously. Just like humans need to find balance of two seemingly opposing forces within themselves.

This brings to mind the ancient concept of a mandala - a symbolic representation of the universe, where everything is interconnected and every part reflects the whole — which is actually found in the creation of Bitcoin itself, under something called The Mandala Network (or an “ultra small world network).

As I leverage Notion to centralize my own content, our digital lives could be organized as seamlessly as a mandala (why I propose integrating a UTXO-based blockchain like Bitcoin into Notion). Each piece of data would become an integral part of the whole, via nanopayments, yet each one distinct and secure in its place. This is how Notion could become a “super wallet” — just imagine each action within the platform being a nanopayment, and you giving external applications “permission” (like you already do when signing in with apps like Google, Twitter or Facebook) to engage with all your data housed in a Notion-like interface.

Now, the challenge and opportunity for you, as pioneers on the forefront of this new era, is to harmonize these seemingly disparate threads. To find in the blockchain the trust of the Silk Road merchants, to seek in AI the wisdom of the ancient sages, and to envision in Notion's "super wallet" the unity of the mandala.

✅ Action Item

Begin by exploring platforms like Notion to centralize your data. Yep, you heard me right — centralize it! When you start to use it like the way I am, you will begin to understand how all this technology will make it possible for us to have a centralized interface with a decentralized infrastructure. Like the artisans who crafted intricate mandalas, create a digital space where every piece of information has its place. This first step will not only streamline your operations but also prepare your organization for the potential future where data management becomes both more decentralized and more interconnected.

Our journey through the digital landscape is just beginning, and as we navigate this path, let us remember that the wisdom of the past can keep us level-headed. As we continue to chart our course, I’ll keep sharing insights that weave together the threads of the ancient and the modern, the East and the West, the tangible and the digital.
